優森美地露營

EGCA Summer Camping at the Yosemite National Park

今年聯誼會有17戶共46人參加了一年一度的集體露營活動。是在七月十五日至十七日周末。大家在會長孫瑪瑞的帶領下，有吃，有喝，有玩，有樂，共度了一個美好的周末。露營的幾天，正是火警緊張的日子，營地裡不許點燃篝火。但晚上大家還是圍坐在汽油燈旁，談人生哲學，陽光心態，健康保健，吃喝玩樂，幸福生活。

July 13-15, 2007, the Association had its summer camping at the Yosemite National Park. This is a new camp site compared to the last three years that the camp site was at the Donna Lake in Sierra Mountain. This year, there are 17 families total of 46 members joining the camping. Member Raymond Cheung, an experienced camper, is a member of Thousand Trails. He and council member Jack Yu took the lead in planning and booking.

Under the leadership of President Marui Sun, vice president Jianjun Chun, both served as chief chef for the big camping families, members enjoyed eating, drinking, playing, sightseeing, and night chatting. Although campfire was prohibited during those days due to high alert of wildfire, we sat around gaslights chatting about our lives, past (in China when we were young) and current (in the States when we are mature). We also talked about philosophy, our American experience, families, and our association our big family.

On Saturday before sunset, we convened at the Glacier Point for dinner and watching the sunset. Members of photo club set up the cameras and tripods waiting for the sunset. Unfortunately, the stage was set, the actor was missing. The sky was cloudy and the sun was hidden behind the clouds. One member mentioned move Gone with the Wind’s ending of Scarlet’s words, “Tomorrow is another day.” The sun will be there in another day, the half dome will be there, too. If not next day, we should return next year.
